Siblings Stellar and Max are living out of their car and on the run. In a time and place where work is scarce, and finding a safe place to sleep feels impossible, Stellar does what she can to keep Max fed and in school. But with Child Protective Services looking for them, and barely enough resources to make it through the week, she struggles to motivate her little brother to keep trying. Stellar manages to hold down a job at the local gas station, but that’s threatened when she gets a call from Max who’s in trouble. A drunken confrontation between him and a property owner leads to their car getting towed, and there’s nothing Stellar can do to stop it. Now with no money and no home, Stellar questions whether she can provide the care her brother needs.
